DOEACC involvement in information security in IT sector

The world of computers commonly known as cyber space, covering all aspects from computers to its installation process and related activities and functions have become an essential and key factor in all activities conducted and executed by Government and the private sector organizations. Especially industries such as banking and finance, telecommunications, defense and armed forces, energy and transport put a heavy emphasis in using the cyber space for their functions on a day to day basis.  In effect the computer world and the information technology has become the elemental factor in the infra structure of any economy and therefore its importance cannot be verbalized in short.

With the importance of the information technology and computer science today we have to consider the possible threats and detriments that lay in wait to destroy the care fully laid out infra structure of these systems as wee. Computer science is designed on software that is fragile and vulnerable to infringement with hackers and other unauthorized persons who try to gain access to confidential systems and destroy them. Damaging effects of such unauthorized persons gaining access to high security level and sensitive data is infinite and provides a gateway to corruption, frauds and embezzlements that could harm the entire nation to unmitigated levels.

Therefore in the global context a series of tools and components have been introduced to mitigate this unpleasant possibility and avoid such threats and thereby has opened another avenue for the businesses of providing the market with the pertaining products and services on information security. Indiawith its aim of being in the forefront of such break through innovations in the information and technology field has recognized the potential advantageous of training professionals to provide the necessary services in ensuring cyber security at all levels from public to private sector. Such specialized workers will have the chance of enjoying a unique employment position that are not found in common capacities and therefore will be able to attract favorable remunerations in addition to having been placed in esteemed positions within the organizations.

Government of Indiahas initiated several training programs via government approved institutes and colleges to facilitate the training and development of information security and related key issues.  Such trainings are initiated at various levels, which include training and education of basic elementary software and information security concepts to master training encompassing all complex areas within the subject of information security. Realizing the imperative need to educate the working force on this important sector, DOEACC in all their centers have implemented training programs at different levels of education course to enhance the magnitude of professionals in the information technology security sector. DOEACC centers in Gorakhpur, Calicut, Aurangabadand Imphal have been authorized as the member institutes for the DIT project structured under the information security related education and awareness program. In addition, DOEACC center in Calicuthas formulated a certification course for Information security professionals and it is also being executed within DIT project.
